Troubleshooting

🔍 Server Discovery Issues

Problem: ChronoCast can't find your Mac server automatically.

Solutions:

  • Check if your router blocks Bonjour/mDNS traffic
  • Restart the ChronoCast server on your Mac
  • Try manual server configuration with your Mac's IP address
  • Check firewall settings on your Mac

Problem: Can see server but can't connect or frequent disconnections.

Solutions:
  • Verify the server passcode is correct
  • Check if the ChronoCast server is running on your Mac
  • Ensure your Mac isn't sleeping (check Energy Saver settings)
  • Try switching between HTTP and HTTPS protocols
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router if connection is unstable

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an internet connection to use ChronoCast? +

No! ChronoCast works entirely on your local network. Once both devices are connected to your Wi-Fi, no internet connection is required for streaming. Internet is only needed for initial app download and in-app purchases.

What video formats are supported? +

ChronoCast supports all video formats that iOS can play natively, including MP4, MOV, M4V, and others. The server will attempt to stream compatible formats directly, while others may require conversion.

Can I use ChronoCast with multiple devices? +

Yes! You can connect multiple iOS devices to the same ChronoCast server. Each device can stream simultaneously (bandwidth permitting).

What's the difference between Free and Pro versions? +

Free version limits you to 25 media files and 3 downloads. ChronoCast Pro removes all limitations, provides unlimited streaming and downloads, full folder access, and access to advanced features.

Is my data secure and private? +

Absolutely! All streaming happens locally on your network. ChronoCast never uploads your media files to external servers. Your content stays private and secure within your home network.

Can I stream to ChronoCast from outside my home network? +

ChronoCast is designed for local network use only. For security and performance reasons, it doesn't support remote access from outside your home network.

Why can't I see all my folders? +

Folder access is a Pro feature. Free users have access to the main media library but folder navigation requires upgrading to ChronoCast Pro.
